The Northern Beaches community is being invited to lend a hand at this year"s National Tree Day on Sunday 31 July.

Council is hosting a number of events to mark the event and give the community a chance to get together, help enhance our environment and learn more about our native flora and fauna.

Residents of all ages and abilities are invited to come along and plant trees at any of these locations on Sunday 31 July:

  • Whitney Reserve, Mona Vale, 9am-midday (Eastern side of reserve, end of Whitney Street)
  • Careel Bay Reserve, 9am-midday (meet cnr of Etival Street & Barrenjoey Road)
  • Mackillop Park, Freshwater, 10am-1pm (meet at carpark off Lumsdaine Drive)

No experience is required as Council staff will be available to assist with all aspects of planting. Tools and equipment are available, with refreshments also provided.

Participants are requested to wear appropriate clothing (long sleeves, trousers, sturdy shoes and a hat) and bring a bottle of water.
